There is still hope for the SPAC market in the UK, according to investment minister Lord Grimstone, despite fears that the growth that has materialized in the US will not make its way to London.

“The FCA is seriously looking at SPAC mark two, and we believe governance is one of our strong selling points,” he said. “There was a question on some of the early SPAC transactions in the US on exactly where that stands in terms of governance, but the way the thinking is developing on that there will be SPACs in the UK.”
