Executive Officers

Babar Ali, 40
Chief Executive Officer, Director and Chairman of the Board

From June 2019 through January 2022, he served as Executive Director on the Risk and Audit Committee of NewQuantum Holdings, a wealth management solutions provider. In his advisory role, he provides leadership to successfully achieve the product market fit. From January 2018 until June 2019, Mr. Ali served as Founder and Head of Trading at Goodments Pty Ltd, an investing app designed to promote ESG investing. Prior to that, from June 2015 to January 2018, he served as Founder and CTO of WealthO2, which offers a suite of wealth management software solutions for advisers. Between January 2012 and June 2015, Mr. Ali was the Chief Technology Officer of Fortnum Private Wealth, a financial planning firm. Prior to that, from January 2005 to January 2012, he held various senior roles in tax and accounting at Deloitte and Thomson Reuters. Mr. Ali graduated from Western Sydney University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science in 2005. He is currently completing a PhD in Data Science through the University of Technology Sydney with 2025 as the expected graduation year and an MBA from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management with 2023 as the expected graduation year.


Atle Crowe- Maxwell, 51
Chief Financial Officer and Director

Since July 2020, he has served as Managing Director at DBA Reconstruction and Advisory, an international professional service outsourcing firm. In this role, Mr. Crowe-Maxwell undertakes Corporate Restructuring, Director and Board advice, forensic accounting as well as formal insolvency appointments. From November 2015 to July 2020, he served as the Head of Business Advisory at Omniwealth, a diversified financial services firm. He also served on the board of Omniwealth from 2015 to 2018. In this role, Mr. Crowe-Maxwell helped build business advisory and succession planning services for the firm. Prior to that, from August 2012 to October 2015, Mr. Crowe-Maxwell served as Business Unit Leader, Business Recovery, and Insolvency for the East Coast Practice at BDO (Binder Dijker Otte), an audit, tax, and advisory services firm. From 2012 to 2015, Mr. Crowe-Maxwell served on the board of directors of the Gidget Foundation, which supports the wellbeing of expectant and new parents. From 2011 to 2014, he also served on the board of the BDO East Coast Practice. Between July 2001 and August 2012, Mr. Crowe-Maxwell served as Manager in the Forensic Accounting and Litigation Support practice at Arthur Andersen. From April 1997 to September 1998 he served as Supervisor, Insolvency at Smith Hancock. He provided reviews and solvency assessments for banks and other corporate entities, litigation, formal insolvency assignments, and business advisory assignments. From April 1995 through March 1997 he served as Supervisor, Insolvency for Ferrier Hodgson. Prior to that, between February 1992 and March 1995, he was a Senior Accountant, Insolvency at KPMG. Mr. Crowe-Maxwell graduated from Macquarie University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Economics (Accounting, Finance and Business Law). In 1996 he took a Professional Year at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. In 2002, he received his professional insolvency qualifications through the University of Southern Queensland. In 2005 he became a registered liquidator with ASIC.

Brett Westbrook, 62
Independent Director Nominee

Since December 2019, he has served as Executive Director of Jigsaw Capital No. 2, a Corporate Advisor in the Australian Market. In this role, Mr. Westbrook is a joint owner and senior advisor. Since October 2019, he has also served as the Executive Director of New Quantum, a wealth management solutions provider. In addition to fulfilling his director responsibilities he has provided consulting advice. Since September 2020 he has served as Chief Operating Officer of YourPortfolio.com, a financial portfolio consolidation app for retail customers. He is one of the founders of this business. From January 2015 to May 2019, Mr. Westbrook served as Executive Director for WealthO2, which offers a suite of wealth management software solutions for advisers. In this role, Mr. Westbrook acted as a Responsible Managers on its Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL). Brett was one of the Founders of this business. He received an MBA from Melbourne University in May 2006.


Denis Durand, 49
Independent Director Nominee

Since 2009, Mr. Durand has served as a Director of Durand Financial Services and Melbourne Loans & Finance, a comprehensive finance solutions firm. In this role, Mr. Durand and his team managed over $250 million of client and corporate funds and specialized in investment advice for high net wealth individuals, business owners, and corporate clients. Further, Mr. Durand has co-hosted the television program “Australian Success,” and “Money Segment” on ABC 774 in 2005. In 1995 Mr. Durand graduated from Latrobe University Melbourne with a Bachelor in Economics degree and in 2003, he graduated with a Diploma of Financial Planning from Deakin University.


Bharat Patel, 59
Independent Director Nominee

Bharat Patel has over 10 years of financial services experience in Australian financial markets. He has extensive domestic and international experience and familiarity with technology and data businesses from strategy, infrastructure, delivery, regulatory, operational and customer perspectives. Since January 2011, he has worked for the Australian Securities and Investments Commission as a Senior Specialist – Market Infrastructure Technology. In this role, Mr. Patel has led the development and execution of ASIC’s supervisory strategy for Cyber & Operational Resilience in Australian Financial Markets, as well as the Data Analytics strategy to deliver investigative analytics to enable monitoring and investigation of market trading activity. He also provides leadership and expertise in the areas of technology architecture, technology governance, risk management and quality assurance within the markets group to support effective supervision of regulated activities providing critical services to financial markets, particularly in areas where novel technologies, architectures or methodologies are being deployed. Prior to that, from June 2007 to March 2010, he served as the Chief Information Officer (Australia & New Zealand) for Thomson Reuters Tax, Legal & Regulatory. From June 2003 to May 2007, he served as Chief Information Officer (Asia Pacific) for Thomson Reuters Tax, Legal & Regulatory. In this role, he led the technology group and managed large-scale business transformation programs for digital content delivery, platform rationalization and operational optimizations to significantly improve customer value propositions and delivering stronger revenue growth for the organization. From June 1999 to June 2003, Mr. Patel served as European Services Director at Artesia Technologies Europe (now OpenText Corp.), an information management software company, specialized in media asset management, digital workflow solutions, and business process optimization. He was accountable for the delivery of digital transformation programs for global corporates including Sony Music Europe, General Motors and the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) amongst others, which transformed the way in which those corporates managed and delivered digital assets to efficiently service its clients and partners globally, as well as optimizing their own information flows and creating new opportunities for growth. In 1984, Mr. Patel graduated with honors from University College, London with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics. His professional certifications include TOGAF 9 Enterprise Architecture, MSP (Managing Successful Programmes), and PRINCE2 – Project Management.


Marco Bardelli, 55
Independent Director Nominee

Marco Bardelli has over 25 years of experience in the finance industry. Since 2014, he has worked at Citramas Group in Singapore, supporting the Chairman and CEO’s activity in strategic & corporate planning, governance overview, business development, and investment. His various directorships for Citramas Group include Executive Director of Nongsa Digital Park, Project Coordinator for the Data Centre Hub at Nongsa Digital Park, Project Coordinator for Infinite Learning Apple Developer Academy, Executive Director at Infinite Studios, and Division Head for Infinite Metaverse. From 2005 through 2013, he served as CEO and Managing Director at UBI Banca Group. From 1997 to 2005, Mr. Bardelli was Chief Regional Representative at UBI Banca Group. From 1995 through 1996, he was Vice President at UBI Banca Group in Honk Kong. He received his MBA from the University of Chicago in 2009.
