Chair of our Board of Directors
Dana Settle is a founding partner at Greycroft, a venture capital firm, where, in addition to serving on the investment committee, she has also been responsible for raising over $2 billion in total capital commitments. In October 2020, Greycroft announced the closing of two new funds totaling $678 million in capital commitments. Since Greycroft’s inception in 2006, Ms. Settle has led investments in technology-enabled, consumer-focused businesses including Acorns, Anine Bing, Avaline, Bird, Bumble, Clique Brands, Goop, Happiest Baby, Merit, Prima, Scopely, Seed, The RealReal (Nasdaq: REAL), Thrive Market, and Versed. Ms. Settle and Ms. Power’s working relationship first began when Ms. Settle led Clique Brands’ Series A financing in 2012. At the time, Clique Brands’ web properties, email newsletter, and social media accounts collectively attracted a monthly audience of approximately 2.6 million. Clique Brands has since scaled its monthly audience to approximately 20 million, as of September 2020, and expanded into new media formats and brand and product development. Ms. Settle has materially contributed to Clique Brands’ growth through her digital and technology expertise, deep network across the omnichannel retail ecosystem, and implementation of strong corporate governance practices as a Board member. Ms. Settle has also led the Seed or Series A financings for all of Ms. Power’s subsequent entrepreneurial ventures: Versed, Avaline, and Merit. We believe that together, Ms. Settle and Ms. Power have crafted a repeatable playbook for developing, launching, and scaling brands that effectively reach Millennial and Gen Z consumers in a capital efficient way. Ms. Settle has played a pivotal role in driving the strategic growth of many businesses by providing critical hands-on assistance as a board member and tapping into the extensive community of global relationships she has developed over 20 years as an investor in venture capital. With her guidance, many of these companies have realized successful exits, including the 2019 IPO of The RealReal (Nasdaq: REAL).
