Executive Officers

Jon Voigtman, 60
Chairman of the Board

Mr. Voigtman is a seasoned financial services and investment executive with a career spanning over 35 years at leading global institutions. Most recently, Mr. Voigtman served as co-Chief Executive Officer of RBC (Barbados) Trading Bank and Chairman of the Board of RBC’s Caribbean Bank, RBC Financial (Caribbean) Limited. Mr. Voigtman joined RBC Capital Markets in 2007 as Sales and Trading Head of the Securitized Products desk in New York, and was instrumental in managing distressed assets through the global financial crisis. Prior to joining RBC, Mr. Voigtman held executive and senior management positions at HSBC Securities, Goldman Sachs, and Lehman Brothers. Over his career, Mr. Voigtman has been involved in over $19 billion of investment securities acquisitions, and has led the structuring and issuance of multiple tens of billions of dollars in new securities. Mr. Voigtman began his financial services career at Freddie Mac, where he spent nearly a decade. His time at Freddie Mac culminated with him being Director of Product Management and Automated Underwriting, where he led the development of the firm’s first Artificial Intelligence system to evaluate mortgage creditworthiness. In 2012, Mr. Voigtman was appointed to the U.S. Endowment for Forestry & Communities Board of Directors and has served as Chairman of the Investment Committee as well as Treasurer. Mr. Voigtman has also held Board positions at CMA, the American Securitization Forum, TrueLink, and Ocwen Financial Services.


Andrew White, 51
Chief Executive Officer

Mr. White is an entrepreneur in the Sports & Entertainment world. Mr. White has focused on three interrelated businesses: leAD Sports Ltd., a Sports and Health Technology investment business, where he has been Chairman since September 2018 and Director since September 2016; 5Oceans Partnership, his commercial entertainment business, where he has been Chairman and CEO since September 2016; and ISH International, which delivers a global, continuing education platform for current and future sports leaders, where he has been Chair since September 2019. Prior to this, Mr. White spent the early part of his career in the Sports Marketing sector at WSM Communications before its acquisition in 2014 by BEN, Bill Gates’ entertainment group. Mr. White is a major investor in the Sports and Health Technology sector as well as a major investor in leAD and the firm’s Executive Chairman. Mr. White has also overseen leAD’s Lake Nona and ADvantage Funds. In addition, Mr. White is responsible for establishing the Tavistock partnership which currently encompasses a Lake Nona start-up Academy joint venture, a co-investment in the Lake Nona Fund, currently raising up to $30 million, and co-investments in various leAD portfolio companies.


Christopher Hubman, 57
Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Hubman has been the Chief Financial Officer of TGR, Tiger Woods Ventures since 2000, where Mr. Hubman is also a member of the Board of Directors. TGR handles Tiger Woods’ professional endeavors and his family office functions. Mr. Hubman is also a member of the TGR Foundation Board of Governors where he sits on the Executive Committee and is Chairman of the Investment Committee. Mr. Hubman also holds senior board and executive level positions for many of TGR’s portfolio companies such as TGR Design, PopStroke Holdings, and The Woods Jupiter. Prior to joining TGR, Mr. Hubman was an Account Executive at International Management Group’s (IMG) registered investment advisor where he provided personal financial planning services to IMG’s golf client base. Mr. Hubman began his career in the audit department of Ernst & Young in Cleveland, Ohio.


Mark Steinberg, 54
Chief Commercial Officer

Mr. Steinberg has served as a Managing Partner since 2011 at Excel, a sports management and marketing agency that represents iconic brands, talent and properties, where he oversees the golf division. Mr. Steinberg is an agent to some of the most prominent athletes in the world, including, Tiger Woods, whom he has represented for over 25 years. Mr. Steinberg began his career at global sports advisory firm, IMG, representing male and female athlete clients in both basketball and golf. In 2011, Mr. Steinberg joined Excel, building out the firm’s golf advisory practice and signing many of the top ranked professional golfers in the world. Mr. Steinberg has also provided senior leadership in expanding Excel’s multi-sport capabilities and in driving the firm’s expansion into events, properties, brands, and media.


Christoph Sonnen, 51
Chief Strategy Officer

Mr. Sonnen is co-Founder and CEO of leAD, since it was founded in July 2016, and has been a partner of ADvantage Sports Tech Fund since April 2018. He is an experienced serial entrepreneur, venture capital expert, strategist, and marketing professional with a passion for start-ups and sports. In the last twenty years, Mr. Sonnen has founded, managed, and sold several businesses, structured funds, and innovation projects in the sports and entertainment industry. Mr. Sonnen started his professional career as an early employee with Red Bull, the energy drink. Since then, Mr. Sonnen has been actively involved in investing, building, and exiting start-ups, while shaping the future of Sports and Health Technology at leAD.


David Rey, 51
Chief Integration Officer

Mr. Rey has enjoyed more than 25 years of experience in the Telecom, Media, and Technology sectors. Most recently, from 2012 to August 2021, Mr. Rey was a Managing Director for Sky, a European media and entertainment companies and part of the Comcast Corporation. At Sky, Mr. Rey ran the Broadband business, a six million customer base platform, and before that, ran Sky’s B2B division across the UK and Ireland. Mr. Rey was formerly Chief Business Officer at News UK and Chief Operating Officer for Discovery Networks’ EMEA division. Mr. Rey is currently non-executive Chair of AFC Wimbledon’s Finance Committee and a Governor at Hampton School Trust, one of the UK’s leading independent schools. Mr. Rey’s previous non-executive experience includes representing Sky’s interests in businesses such as At the RacesManchester United TV, Nickelodeon UK, and National Geographic TV Europe.


 

Board of Directors

Steven Gartner, 62
Director Nominee

Mr. Gartner was the Chairman of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, a member of the Executive Committee and a partner in Willkie’s Corporate and Financial Services department until his retirement in December 2020. Mr. Gartner was nationally recognized as one of the leading practitioners in the private equity and mergers and acquisitions space, having advised boards of directors and senior management on various strategic transactions in the healthcare, healthcare services, technology and telecom sectors. Under his leadership, Willkie grew revenues by more than 80%. In 2018, Mr. Gartner was honored alongside Willkie by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) with a Compass Award in recognition of Willkie’s successful participation in programs designed to attract, inspire and nurture diverse talent. In 2015, Mr. Gartner received the John J. Murphy Award from St. John’s University School of Law in recognition of his distinguished service to the public, the profession and the rule of law.


David Maura, 49
Director Nominee

Mr. Maura is the Executive Chairman and CEO of Spectrum Brands. Prior to his appointment in 2018, Mr. Maura served as Executive Chairman as well as CEO of the predecessor to Spectrum Brands and prior to that as non-executive Chairman of the Board of the predecessor to Spectrum Brands. Mr. Maura brings a wealth of SPAC experience having been Chairman, President, and CEO of the SPAC, Mosaic from 2017 to 2020, and overseeing the merger between Mosaic and Vivint. Mr. Maura served as outside director on Vivint’s board until 2020. Mr. Maura has previously served on the boards of directors of Ferrous Resources, Ltd., Russell Hobbs, and Applica. Between 2011 and 2016, Mr. Maura was a Managing Director and the Executive Vice President of Investments at HRG Group, Inc., where he was also a member of the board of directors from 2011 to 2017. Mr. Maura previously served as a Vice President and Director of Investments of Harbinger Capital between 2006 and 2012. Prior to joining Harbinger Capital in 2006, Mr. Maura was a Managing Director and Senior Research Analyst at First Albany Capital, Inc., where he focused on distressed debt and special situations, primarily in the consumer products and retail sectors. Mr. Maura began his career in financial services as a High Yield Research Analyst.


Alan Hodson, 59
Director Nominee

Mr. Hodson is a highly accomplished board member and former financial services executive. Mr. Hodson spent almost 20 years at UBS and its predecessor firms, prior to his retirement in June 2005. At UBS, Mr. Hodson held senior leadership roles across Europe and Asia, ultimately running Global Equities for UBS Investment Bank. Mr. Hodson’s long career in equities and equity sales has provided him a deep understanding of major institutional investors across the world. Currently, Mr. Hodson is Chairman of Charity Bank in the UK, Senior Independent Director for Harbourvest Global Private Equity, and serves on the Investment Committees of the governing bodies for golf and UK tennis. Mr. Hodson has also held senior board level positions for entities affiliated with BlackRock, JP Morgan and the Norwegian Norges Bank Sovereign fund, and several Trustee positions in the Charitable sector.
