HoongKhoeng Cheong, 56
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Cheong has been a director of SPI Energy Co since 2017, and its chief operating officer since 2014. Mr. Cheong has more than 20 years of engineering and operation experience in the solar power and electronics industries. He was appointed chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Sunways AG, a publicly-listed company in Germany from 2012 to 2014. He previously served as SPI Energy Co.’s general manager from 2007 to 2011. He was responsible for photovoltaic (“PV”) system design and development as well as the manufacturing of key components for PV modules and racking systems before joining LDK. Prior to joining Sunways AG in 2007, Mr. Cheong spent 16 years in the electronics industry responsible for engineering development and manufacturing of liquid crystal display products and he served as the Vice President of Engineering of an affiliate of Flextronics International Ltd. Mr. Cheong holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Louisiana and obtained his Master of Science in computer integrated manufacturing from Nanyang Technology University, Singapore in 1997.
Haoyu Zhai, 33
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Zhai has 10 years’ of experience in the investment and consulting industry. Mr. Zhai has participated in and contributed to the success of multiple initial public offerings and merger/acquisition projects. Mr. Zhai has been working as director of strategic investment for SPI Energy Co. since June of 2019. Previously, from May 2016 to April 2019, Mr. Zhai worked as General Manager Dongdingxinneng Capital LLC, a leading boutique investment bank in China, where he managed eight private equity funds, one of which is a green energy industry fund, concentrating on cutting-edge technologies for charging pile, hydrogen energy, and storage. He also served as the senior consultant of Guangdong Technology LLP and Beijing East Environment Energy, a China publically listed company. Mr. Zhai has a bachelor of science degree in Finance from University of Southampton, United Kingdom and MS degree in Finance from Bentley University in the United States.

Xiaofeng Peng, 46
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Peng has been a director and executive chairman of the board of SPI Energy Co., Ltd. (“SPI Energy Co.” Nasdaq: SPI) since 2011, and its chief executive officer since 2016. SPI Energy Co. is a global renewable energy company, providing solar storage and electric vehicle (“EV”) solutions for business, residential, government, logistics and utility customers and investors . Mr. Peng founded LDK Solar Co Ltd in July 2005 and was its chairman of the board and chief executive officer until 2014. Prior to founding LDK, Mr. Peng founded Suzhou Liouxin Co., Ltd. (“Suzhou Liouxin”) in March 1997 and was its chief executive officer until February 2006. Suzhou Liouxin is a leading manufacturer of personal protective equipment in Asia. Mr. Peng currently is a director of Phoenix Motor Inc. and LDK New Energy Holding Co. Ltd., where he also serves on their audit, compensation and governance committees. Mr. Peng graduated from Jiangxi Foreign Trade School in 1993 with a diploma in international business and from Beijing University Guanghua School of Management in 2002 with an executive MBA degree.
James Young, 59
Director Nominee
Dr. Young, with expertise in the solar and semiconductor industries, is one of the founders of ModuRack, Inc., an engineering and manufacturing company for solar power components, and has been the chief executive officer and a director since 2016. Dr. Young is also a director of SunX Solar, LLC which he co-founded in 2013. SunX Solar manufactures solar systems for roof tops, primarily for the residential market. Previously, Dr. Young founded GSM Solar Co. in 1999 and served as the chief executive officer until 2012. Dr. Young has been focusing on solar system optimization, in particular, hardware innovations on soft cost reduction. He was one of the original innovators for “whole hot zone” control for silicon crystals, and he optimized industrial 300MM silicon wafer for Logic IC processes. Previously, Dr. Young was a strategic planning consultant to Sumitomo Sitix, a supplier of silicon wafers, and a program manager at Intel, Inc. Dr. Young has made significant contributions for Chinese solar industry development with the introduction of wire slicing to China and developing the recharge system for CZ silicon growth, both technologies of which are common practice in the industry. Dr. Young has more than 20 awarded and pending patents in the United States and China,and is a Fellow of the Institute for Solid Defect Studies. Dr. Young has a phD in Physics and Computer Science form SUNY (State University of New York), Albany.
Yanhong Xue, 49
Director Nominee
Ms. Xue has more than 20 years of experience in finance, accounting, and SEC reporting. Ms. Xue has been serving as the Chief Financial Officer of Goldenbridge Acquisition Ltd. (Nasdaq:GBRG) since August 2020. Ms. Xue has been a director of Mingzhu Logistics Holdings Ltd since September of 2020, and currently serves as a member of their Audit Committee. Prior to that, Ms. Xue served as the Chief Financial Officer for various US-listed public companies such as BIMI International Medical Inc. (Nasdaq: BIMI) from July 2021 to September 2021, iFresh Inc. (Nasdaq: IFMK) from March 2020 to June 2021, XT Energy Group, Inc. (OTCQB: XTEG) from July 2018 to March 2020, General Agriculture Corp. (OTCBB: GELT), an agriculture company, from July 2013 to April 2017. Prior to these positions, Ms. Xue was a senior manager in the SEC Audit Services department of Acquaella, Chiarelli, Shuster, Berkower & Co., LLP, a certified public accounting & advisory firm, from September 2007 to October 2010. Ms. Xue received a bachelor’s degree in history from Peking University and a master’s degree in accounting from State University of New York at Binghamton. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York and a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Mark Ikauniks, 47
Director Nominee
Mr. Ikauniks is an Adjunct Partner at SOSV Hong Kong Ltd., a venture capital firm, a position he has held since July 2020. From June 2019 until June 2020, Mr. Ikauniks served as Venture Partner at Accelerating Asia Ventures Pte. Ltd., a venture capital firm based in Singapore. From May 2016 until January 2019, Mr. Ikauniks served as Director and Expert-In-Residence at SOSV Hong Kong Ltd., a venture capital firm. Previously, Mr. Ikauniks worked in investment banking roles at leading global financial firms including UBS, Deutsche Bank and Lehman Brothers in New York, Silicon Valley and Hong Kong, where he advised numerous corporations on strategic and financial matters. Mr. Ikuaniks has, since August 2020, served as an observer to the boards of ATIOM Pte. Ltd and Web2ship, Inc. Mr. Ikauniks received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bowdoin College and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Virginia.
